Blu Skyy Cardigans

Welcome to Blu Skyy Cardigan Welsh Corgis. We are a small hobby operation operating in our home. We are located in a college town (KU) just west of Kansas City. As members of the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America, Blu Skyy has been showing and breeding Corgis since early 2000’s. As a learning activity shared by my daughter, we have been blessed to have many mentors share their experienced knowledge. Always consulting with my friends, observing and researching, we try to work toward high breeding standards. Our goal is to breed dogs with wonderful temperament, type and healthy backgrounds and work toward the AKC standard for the breed. Many reach the show ring, compete in agility, rally, herding and give comfort as a therapy dogs, but most important are loved family members.

Our Family

On a personal level, I’m professor and chair of a graphic design program for over 30 years. With an eye for design, I feel I’m very observant and this helps me to “see” what I feel is the ideal Cardigan and work to strive for it. I enjoy showing, visiting with friends and spend much time socializing my dogs and puppies. Giving to others, I donate time with my therapy dog and bring joy to many that need a lift.

My daughter started showing our first Cardigan at age eight. She was determined and finished her first Cardigan before she turned ten. She has also trained Cardigans for agility, has a good eye for spotting good structure and enjoys time with her therapy dog.
